Putnam County Elementary School's PEARLS Club had its second meeting this morning, and the girls were excited to welcome their first guest speaker, Miss Georgia Ultimate, Taylor Mackenzie Troup. Taylor spent time talking with the group about poise and posture while encouraging the girls to build confidence and believe in themselves.
During the meeting, PEARLS members learned about the power of positive daily affirmations and even practiced speaking them while looking in the mirror. They also learned the ever-important pageant walk, a fun activity that helps develop poise, confidence, and self-awareness.
The girls also received their journals, decorated them, and wrote down their personal affirmations. These journals will be used throughout the year as a place to reflect on the valuable lessons and experiences they gain during each meeting.
At the end of each meeting, one PEARLS member selects a food item that many of the girls have never tried before, and everyone gets to experience it together. This time, the choice was mochi! While the texture was definitely something new, the girls absolutely loved it and even asked for seconds.

We had the pleasure of honoring our September Superintendent’s Students of the Month, students who truly exemplify what it means to be a leader both inside and outside the classroom. These students demonstrate academic growth and achievement while consistently displaying character, kindness, perseverance, and respect. They encourage those around them, treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with dignity, work hard, and maintain positive attitudes that inspire others every day.

These prestigious awards reflect PCCSS's continuous commitment to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of financial reporting. Even more impressive, this marks the 12th consecutive year that our Finance Department has earned recognition for excellence at the state, national, or international level. 🔧 At Putnam County Middle School, we saw firsthand how a grant from the Putnam Education Foundation helped expand the school's Makerspace and the incredible hands-on learning experiences students are enjoying because of it.

Today, our Putnam County High School Service Leadership students took their leadership and service into the elementary classroom, partnering with Putnam County Elementary School Trailblazers in grades 3–5 to make math literacy something students could move, laugh, talk, and learn through!
Our Service Leadership students first studied math literacy and vocabulary so they could turn challenging concepts into activities that made sense for younger learners. Then they put that knowledge into action!
